Material Finishes

Bright

finish highlights the natural beauty of the material. Bronze, Nickel Silver, and Copper coins and medallions are all coated with a protective lacquer finish to protect the bright finish. Aluminum and Brass minted tokens are not lacquered and they will weather naturally.

Satin

finish gives a soft-brushed look to the finish of the minted coin or medallion. It is an elegant finish that will highlight the relief of the design.

Antique

finish is done through a hand process of oxidation and polishing that gives the coins the rich traditional look similar to currency that has circulated and aged. Antique finish highlights the relief of a minted coin or medallion; coins with this finish are lacquered to provide lasting protection for the beauty of the coin or medallion.

Epoxy Color

can be added to the minted coin or medallion to enhance the value and beauty of the design. The addition of color to a design required careful die design and production and should be a consideration early in the design process.

Anodization

is a secondary operation that gives a decorative color to the finished aluminum coin or token.

All of Wendell’s coins, key tags and medallions are sprayed with a protective coating of jewelers lacquer to protect the beauty of the finish.
