A Starfish Story
There is a popular starfish story I like where a young boy is throwing starfish back into the ocean so they don’t die in the sun. Life sometimes seems overwhelming like saving the starfish. There are so much happening, so many problems to solve, people who need help. How easy it would be to just wring our hands and think there is nothing we can do. The starfish story tells us we can make a difference and we don’t even have to do anything gigantic. We can offer a smile to someone, we can volunteer in our own communities, offer a shoulder for someone to cry on, visit someone who is shut in or just be there for someone who is grieving.
